LIGHT is very pleased to present Ann Dunagan for our faire this year!
Ann Dunagan lives with a passion for the Lord and the lost. She is a longtime homeschooling mother of seven children (ages 7 to 21, with three graduates), and an international minister alongside her husband, Jon Dunagan. For 20 years, the Dunagan family has focused on missions work with Harvest Ministry -- emphasizing remote city-wide outreaches, church planting, National Evangelism Team Support (NETS), ministry to orphans, and Mission-Minded LIFE (motivating Christians for Leadership, International vision, Family priorities, and Educational purpose). Ann is the author of Teaching With God’s Heart for the World (a missions curriculum for homeschoolers), Hand Commands – The Ten Commandments for Little Ones, The Mission-Minded Child – Raising a New Generation to Fulfill God’s Purpose, and The Mission-Minded Family – Releasing your family to God’s destiny.

The Mission-Minded Homeschool – Releasing Your Family to God’s Destiny
We need to "aim" our children toward God's "mission" for their lives. And in order for our homeschooling to be effective (by God's standards), our "bow-string" must be strong and aligned to biblical priorities. A powerful bow is fastened tightly on two ends; and as Christian homeschoolers, we must keep two priorities in balance: God has a passion for our home (including our personal relationships with Him), and God has a passion our world! We won’t all be foreign missionaries; but we’re all called to be mission-minded.
Teaching with God’s Heart for the World
In a mission-minded family, there’s a God-infused energy. There’s a focus on God’s worldwide purpose, and there’s a passion for the lost. There’s a spiritual depth and hunger that reaches beyond the maintenance mode of cultural Christianity. A mission-minded family emphasizes leadership, calling, and destiny. There’s a prevailing attitude of self-sacrifice and an emphasis on total submission to God’s will. And there’s an unmistakable and contagious joy. This workshop suggests practical ways for a homeschooling family to incorporate a heart for God’s Great Commission into our everyday lives.
Playing the College Game – Winning Admissions and Scholarships
For many homeschooled students, a future college degree is necessary to fulfill God’s purposes; yet the process of admissions and financial aid can be daunting. As a family, the Dunagans have coached their first three totally-homeschooled graduates to achieve college admissions and scholarship success. Taking advantage of the unique freedoms of home education, they emphasize leadership, individual strengths, international community service, CLEP exams, scholarship competitions, and community college dual-enrolment. And so far, (by God’s grace and through a growing process of faith) their mission-minded family has earned over $200,000 in college scholarships and funding . . . for God’s glory!
